Our story, our successes
Mace was established in 1990 by a small team of construction professionals, led by Ian Macpherson, who perceived that the building and construction industry was hungry for change in the way that it procured and delivered projects.
They believed that the time had come for new, non-adversarial, more collaborative ways of working and that construction management, a relatively new concept in the industry at that time, best embodied those values.
Mace quickly became a leader in the UK's construction management field. As clients came to see the benefits of the Mace approach, and the way in which challenges and issues could be tackled and solved collaboratively, pressure mounted for the company to extend its service offer. The result is a company that has diversified into project management, construction consultancy, development management and management consultancy. Today Mace is a business whose strength lies in this dynamic diversity, offering clients flexible and innovative services to deliver their projects.
