FM World magazine names Macro's Bill Heath "pioneer"

27/11/2008
FM World, the award-winning fortnightly magazine of the British Institute of Facilities Management, has identified Macro's Bill Heath as one of the pioneers of the FM sector.
The initiative, sponsored by FM service provider Sodexo, was launched in September to discover who has helped to create and steer the industry and has had a major impact on its development over the past 30 years.
From consultants to directors of FM, from the private sector to the public and not-for-profit sectors and academia, Sodexo's aim was to spotlight the top 20 professionals who have made the FM industry what it is today. Bill celebrated with the other FM professionals identified at an exclusive party on Wednesday 5th November held in the Globe Theatre on London's South Bank.
At the event they were welcomed by FM World editor Cathy Hayward and BIFM chairman Iain Murray while Andy Scorgie, the Globe's facilities manager, talked about some of the challenges he faces at the site: "Having written about the FM sector for almost five years, it's incredibly exciting for me to see in this room some of the people who have made the profession what it is today," said Hayward. "Congratulations on being recognised by your peers as pioneers of our sector."
Bill will be profiled in FM World on the 18th December.
