Mace achieves one million man hours without incident at Bahrain Bay

30/03/2009

Bahrain Bay's Arcapita headquarters development has achieved one million man-hours without a serious or reportable accident. This achievement is made all the more impressive given the difficult cultural challenges that face projects in the Middle East.

Andrew Mitchell, Mace project leader for Arcapita commented: "one million man hours without a lost time incident or reportable accident is a fantastic achievement. Given the additional difficulties with the local mix of cultures and attitudes to Health and Safety, this is an even more significant milestone. It is all credit to the tireless work of the project's health and safety team led by Nass Murray and Roberts [NMR]. It sets a benchmark for the remainder of the project and the Bahrain Bay development as a whole."

Due for completion at the end of December 2009, Arcapita's new headquarters will be one of the first projects to be completed as part of the Bahrain Bay development; a mixed use reclaimed land development located off the north coast of Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
