Mace Group in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For 2008

10/03/2008

As a result of great staff feedback, Mace Group has once again been named as one of the best places to work in the UK's most authoritative survey of employee attitudes.

The Sunday Times list is the guide to the best mid-sized employers (250-5,000 staff) in the UK. This year the survey drew from more than 180,000 employees across 868 companies. A random sample of 500 Mace staff members were surveyed during October last year and with comments such as: "I have never worked at a company and felt so happy," (made by a Mace project manager), it's no surprise that the group made the list again.

The survey results reveal that:
• 90% believe the company gives health and safety priority, an impressive top 10 result!
• 81% believe that their job is good for personal growth
• 79% are confident in the leadership skills of senior management
• 79% feel they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the company
• 79% feel they would not leave tomorrow even if they were offered another job
• 78% are excited about where the organisation is going

Maintaining a position in the top 100 is an impressive achievement you consider the group's phenomenal growth: a 28% increase in staff numbers from 2,100 in 2,700 in the last year. The number of companies surveyed by The Sunday Times has also increased this year to a record 868, up from 168 in 2004, and Mace Group has consistently been ranked within the top 100 despite the increase in competition.

Group Human Resources Director Kath Knight commented: "Once again our staff have done us proud and we have been rewarded with a very creditable 55th place. It is really great to know that staff feel so positive towards their employer. We are never complacent though and we will be looking at the detailed feedback to identify how we can go on to bigger and better things next year."
