Mark Loader joins Mace to grow its share of the civil engineering and transportation market

13/07/2010

Mace, the international consultancy and construction company, has appointed Mark Loader as UK Director for Infrastructure. The move aims to extend its transportation and civils offer from pure consultancy to include construction delivery, and grow its share in the infrastructure sector.

Mace has traditionally focused on programme/project management in the transport, energy and utilities sectors and project/construction management in the aviation market. Loader's appointment demonstrates Mace's ambition to grow a comprehensive consultancy and construction delivery offer across all subsectors of infrastructure in the UK.

Of his appointment, Mark Loader said: "I have joined Mace with the exciting challenge of developing the infrastructure delivery business, specifically rail, highways and civils. Infrastructure is an enormous market and by combining the company's existing consultancy expertise with my own construction delivery background, I'm sure Mace can secure a significant share of the market."

Mark Reynolds, Deputy Chief Executive of Mace said: "Mark will be a major asset to the company. He brings an impressive track record in construction delivery that will complement our commitment to delivering innovation and cost efficiency for clients, even on the most challenging projects. Mace has always stood for finding better ways of working for our customers and we can now provide this service excellence in both infrastructure consultancy and construction delivery."

Loader was previously managing director of capital projects at Morgan Est, where his work included DLR extension works to Woolwich, which was delivered eight weeks early; Paddington Station roof replacement for Network Rail; various works for Heathrow airport; and a range of infrastructure projects at the London 2012 Olympic site in Stratford. Other past employers include SNC-Lavalin, Booz Allen & Hamilton International and British Rail, where Mark started his career as an engineering management trainee.

Mace has an impressive record of delivery of major transport projects which includes Heathrow T5, Birmingham New Street redevelopment and Dublin Airport.
