Information
Sense was appointed to provide cost consultancy services in the development of the new masterplan for the regeneration London Parkland Gateway. Corby was designated a ‘New Town' in 1950 and substantially formed by the growing steel industry. In 1980 the steel industry closed and has subsequently been replaced by light engineering and manufacture.
A regeneration framework has now been published, which sets out to regenerate Corby into a new vibrant and dynamic town and double its population to 100,000 by 2030. It sets out to improve the aspirations of the town and help create a thriving dynamic community as the town increases in size.
The primary aims of the Framework are to provide new quality housing, improve economic investment, introduce a good urban design to the town centre, regeneration of existing housing stock and create improved transportation.
