Senior Environment, Safety and Health Consultant
Robin is a safety professional with over twenty years' experience in safety, health & environmental management. His current role at Mace Sustain involves developing bespoke safety, health and environmental solutions for internal and external clients of the Mace Group. This includes the majority of services offered by Mace Sustain including CDM Co-ordination, behavioural management (BMoS)and occupational health safety (OHS) training and auditing.
Robin began his construction health and safety career as a principle researcher for the Health and Safety Executive's evaluation of behavioural safety, including the measurement of safety climate, at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). This research generated over 50 academic papers and many opportunities for him to speak at international conferences and deliver IOSH's behavioural safety CPD workshops.
Prior to joining Mace, Robin was employed by Marsh Risk Consulting as its European Thought Leader for their behavioural management programme and operated as a senior consultant for other health and safety services. He also developed and evaluated virtual reality software as a teaching and assessment tool for improving health and safety awareness of construction apprentices.
Robin is heavily involved in academic lecturing and course development for Salford and Bath Universities, including authoring distance-learning modules - Behavioural Safety, MSc in Health and Safety Management, Construction Health and Safety, MSc in International Construction Management and has advised students on their MSc dissertation submissions since for the last 12 years.
